This comprehensive backyard transformation involved extensive excavation and construction work in close proximity to the existing house, presenting unique challenges that were successfully overcome. Working with Gardens by Jamie Reid, the project centered around creating a multi-level outdoor living area that seamlessly integrated with the natural slope of the property.

The outdoor living environment is built on a spacious concrete and brick patio, ideal for dining and entertaining, with a cedar hot tub tucked into one corner for privacy. A custom-built wood-fired pizza oven anchors the outdoor kitchen area, adding a touch of rustic charm.

Navigating the steep incline to the raised terrace in the backyard required careful planning and construction. A sturdy set of timber stairs was constructed, ensuring safe access while seamlessly blending into the landscape design. The entrance to the rear garden is highlighted by a beautiful and unique outdoor shower.

The project’s success was due in part to meticulous planning and careful execution, given the limited access and proximity to the house. The team employed specialised earthmoving equipment and techniques to minimise disruption and ensure a smooth construction process. The result is a functional outdoor setting with usable spaces and stunning features and planting complimenting the overall design.
