Legacy Awards — Nominations Now Open
The Legacy Awards breathed new life into the way Registered Master Landscapers recognises those who have given exceptional service to the Association and the wider industry. Building on the foundation of the Life Membership and Distinguished Service Awards that existed under LIANZ, the Legacy Awards bring that recognition forward under a new name and a renewed sense of purpose.
The First Recipients
In 2024 we recognised three inaugural Legacy Award recipients: David Sole, Robert Luijtens and Chris Goom. Their citations reflect a sustained commitment to raising the professionalism of the landscaping sector — the kind of contribution that shapes an industry over time. Their names now appear permanently on the Legacy Awards roll on our website.
Criteria
The person nominated must:
-
Embody the values as expressed in the RML Code of Conduct: integrity, professionalism, competence.
-
Provide a strong voice advocating for the Association and/or the industry as a whole
-
Contribute to the perceived and actual increased professionalism of the landscaping sector
-
Be part of an existing or past member company of the Association
How the Award Works
Legacy Awards are presented every other year, aligned with the Young Landscaper of the Year competition — a chance to celebrate those at the start of a career alongside those who have made their mark on the profession.
The award can only be given to an individual who is, or was, part of a company that is a registered member of the Association. Nominations must be made and seconded by representatives from two current member companies. If you need help putting a nomination together, get in touch with the Board.
Nominations for 2026 Are Now Open
If you know someone whose contribution to this industry deserves recognition, now is the time to put their name forward.
